With nearly 40 years of expertise in precision engineering, ROMECA manufactures prototypes and small production runs for complex industrial assemblies. When Christophe CASANOVA took over the company in March 2025, a strategic initiative was launched: to restructure the organization, digitize processes, and establish a quality management system capable of supporting the growth of this small industrial business.
Structuring to Delegate: The Trigger
Upon taking office, management was faced with a simple reality. The goal was ambitious:
to simultaneously implement an industry-specific ERP system, establish a comprehensive QMS, and
obtain ISO 9001 certification within a very short timeframe.
“To grow and delegate, you need procedures, processes, and collaborative tools. Without them, it becomes difficult to support the company’s growth. So we needed to implement a digital, collaborative quality management system. That’s exactly what Agilium provided.”
A high-quality solution designed for small industrial businesses
During his market research, Thierry Casanova, the quality manager, discovered numerous QSE solutions. Two obstacles quickly became apparent.
First, the admission ticket.
Next, the depth of industry expertise. Some solutions offered a very broad scope—including equipment fleet management, HR training, safety, and environmental management—but at the expense of quality management.
“Many solutions only started at 10, 20, or 30 users. With Agilium, we could start with just 1, 2, or 3 users. It was affordable for a very small business like ours. Agilium started from the ground up: mapping, audits, non-conformities, action plans. You don’t get sidetracked; you stay focused on that. And that’s exactly what I needed.”
Rapid Deployment to Support Certification
Implementation begins in the fall and unites the team around a single goal: to pass the ISO 9001 certification audit.
The OPCO’s coverage of 50% of training costs helped make the project a success: a crucial factor for an organization with limited resources. The support provided by the Agilium teams accelerated the development of skills.
“ “In less than a year, we implemented the industry-specific ERP system, digitized the quality management system, and obtained ISO 9001 certification. It was a real challenge.”
A tool that guides process owners
What particularly impressed Thierry Casanova was the structure of the process view in Agilium.
This structure is making a real difference in pilots’ daily lives. You no longer need to be a quality expert to contribute to the system. Quality becomes a collective reflex, driven by the tool.
“Each process has tabs that cover its entire lifecycle: description, diagram, risks, nonconformities, audits, action plans, and related documents. Even if the process manager isn’t from the quality department, they’re naturally guided through the process. They know what to do.”
Implement a quality system structured like Romeca's
GED, audits, nonconformities, and management: all centralized on a single platform.
Responsive and Attentive Support
Beyond the solution itself, ROMECA highlights the quality of the support and the software’s ability to adapt to its specific needs (for example, a custom view showing the number of nonconformities by customer).
For a small industrial business where every minute counts, this close relationship with the software vendor is a real advantage.
360° Quality Management
Today, ROMECA uses Agilium to manage its entire QMS: process mapping, document management, risks, audits, nonconformities, and action plans.
Reports enable better management and faster decision-making.
“All the information is centralized in one place. This reduces the time spent searching for information, makes analysis easier, and lightens the mental load.”
When you start with an Excel file and have to pull together information from all over the place, it can lead to burnout. For me, that was a real challenge in my previous job.
“Reports allow us to do work that actually serves a purpose. We analyze. We make decisions. We’re no longer just going through the motions.”
Rapid adoption by the teams
Four users currently have access to the platform, which is nearly half of the permanent staff. Adoption has been rapid for one specific reason: field users don’t have to configure anything.
“Drivers have direct access to the information they need—whether it’s to report a nonconformity or access a document. They didn’t need extensive training to get started. Once you understand the system, it’s a breeze.”
This simplicity promotes the gradual adoption and development of a culture of quality within the company.
A solid foundation for future developments
ROMECA continues to strengthen its QMS based on a clear principle: subsidiarity.
“Wherever someone is capable of taking on a responsibility, we give it to them. The tool makes that possible. We delegate. And I oversee the process.”
The next steps include integrating quality metrics into Agilium and activating new modules—process review and stakeholders—which will further enhance an already robust QMS.
“Agilium already offers a very comprehensive solution for quality management. Future developments in the areas of safety, the environment, or other processes will be valuable additions.”
